How The Contract Is Constructed
Each contract Template is a time-saving collection of related paragraphs stored
in our native *.TXM format. Each contract Template
contains the following:
-
Standard paragraphs ordered
according to standard contract writing practice. (You can create
your own paragraphs and templates.)
-
Tags (Replacement Code Words
enclosed in angle brackets) that are used for updating contract
information. These words, like <CompanyName> are used by the
program to insert the information you entered in the Update section into
the contract.
The Contract Order
Each contract template is arranged in a similar order based on contract
writing convention. By putting the contract paragraphs into a
structured order, it is easier to update and read the contract. This
structure will also look familiar to your customers who may see contracts
at their jobs. The contract order, in basic terms, is as follows:
-
Description of the contract
and the parties involved.
-
Detail of related documents.
-
General Scope description.
-
Detail of the work to be
performed, organized along the construction process.
-
Legal boilerplate describing
terms and timing issues.
-
Payment amounts and terms.
-
Signature section.
Tags
Each contract template contains Tags or Replacement Code Words as part
of the text of various paragraphs. The program uses these Tags as
place holders for the information you enter in the Update dialog boxes.
When you enter information in the dialog boxes and then choose the
Insert Info. Into Contract command, the program replaces each
occurrence of each code word with the associated information from the
Update dialog box.
